sleigh ride with santa

we're still celebrating santa himself at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ and you have plenty of time to join us, which we hope you will! i've gone a bit vintage this week:

vintage goodies: night sky from an old ideals magazine, sheet music, vintage seam binding, doily scraps; washi tape: little b; wood veneer sheets: alte new; sleigh die: impression obsession; florals and leaf: petaloo; cardstock: core'dinations; ahesives: elmers brand glue tape, 3m foam tape, gluedots, sewing machine

at the moment i'm a bit obsessed with alte new's suuuuuuuuuuuuper-thin, amazingly die-cut-able wood sheets. they come in cherry and birch, this is the cherry. it's luscious, right? i love that when you use it for a silhouette style diecut, you really don't need to do anything else, it's a statement all on its own. i was planning to paint a colorburst sky for santa to be flying through, but then i saw this beautiful greyscale night sky in an old ideals christmas magazine, and i switched gears, lol. i added some neutral, fairly flat layers to trim out the card (sheet music, doily scraps, washi tape, vintage seambinding) and then popped on a couple of velvetty floral accents and called it good!

stephanie also has an awesome santa card to show you, it's at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ so why not hop over for a look-see?! ♥

  1. You get the best stuff to use, I get boring cardstock. Your card is fabulous, love the sky and of course all the other collagy things.
